THE LIGHTNING LAB -- PROJECT STATUS
Conceptual Design 2 [CD2] -- Now complete. A summary of the CD2 specifications can be found here.
Site Location -- Southern Nevada continues to offer the most attractive possibilities.  The search for a suitable location is ongoing.
Fundraising -- We are now beginning the monumental task of attracting the funding for site procurement and construction.  Fundraising events will begin to happen on a regular basis, once the scale twin prototype is complete, and available for demonstrations.

The Scale-Model Prototype -- A scale prototype of the 12-story twin coil is the first logical step towards developing design concepts for the large-scale twin coils, and evaluating the accuracy of the computer-based design methods used in the CD2.
Construction on a fully functional 1:12 scale prototype coil system is underway.  This prototype design employs the same computer algorithms used to develop the CD2.  Several key elements of the prototype design are illustrated below.   Construction Photos Here.
