THE 1/3 SCALE 40FT PROTOTYPE

This scale coil tower is used for validating the detailed design of the 121ft full-scale towers.

THE ELECTRUM PROJECT

VIDEO DOCUMENTARY BY ALBERTA CHU

A sculpture by Eric Orr.

Concealed within the sculpture is a 130,000 watt Tesla Coil.

THE 40,000 WATT EXPERIMENTAL COIL

Originally built from salvaged material, this coil was the largest operating Tesla Coil in the world when it was completed in 1990.

This coil survived many performances by Survival Research Labs both here and abroad.

THE 1/12 SCALE TWIN PROTOTYPE

The first working scale prototype of the 121ft full-scale towers. We use this coil system to model two-coil interactions and how to control the intra-tower field contours.

WIRELESS POWER

Mike Kennan operates his 'Tesla Roadster' in this video.

The twin coils operate in 'arc free' mode, generating an electric field sufficient to power the roadster at a stately pace.

View our paper on efficient wireless power transmission published at the North American Power Symposium in 2008.

THE MUSEUM COIL

A project for the Exploratorium.

THE 2008 'TESLATHON'

Held at the 3rd St shop in San Francisco.
